Community Employment
Community Employment
(formally Supported Employment) employs consumers in various businesses throughout
Houston County. These consumers hold regular jobs and receive support
services from our staff
Community Employment is paid employment, in an ordinary work place with
pay equal and same rate as all other employees in that position.
This Program provides qualified consumers services to obtain and keep
employment in work settings.
Community Employment Services Include:
1. Identifying vocational aptitudes and preferences
2. Job development and possible modification
3. Placement assistance
4. Intensive one-on-one Job Coaching
5. Staff monitoring, with training assistance, and modification as needed
The Program Goal is to assist the consumer in attaining and maintaining
their level of independent functioning and community integration.
Each placement is a partnership amongst the Consumer, Members of the
Consumers Natural Support System, the Employer, and the Service System
.
Program Requirements: 1. Hourly Requirements:
20 Hours Weekly-80 Hours
Monthly 2. Minimum of 20 hrs. per week up to 40 hrs. per
week. 3. Involvement with the community by frequent social
interaction with
non-disabled peers 4. Ability to stay on task 5. Willingness to work 6. Desire to earn and learn a job 7. Interest in variety of work/jobs offered 8. Follow all rules and regulations
