Since 1956, Houston County Association for Exceptional Citizens, Inc. (also known as Happy Hour Service Center) has been serving developmentally disabled citizens of Houston County. In 1993 we built Falcon Park I & II. In 2009 we added Falcon Park IV, V & then VI in 2011 to our group homes providing residential services to persons served. Our Falcon Park III, HUD, 9 Unit, Apartment Complex provides semi-independent living arrangements. Happy Hour is a non-profit 501 c(3) organization and a United Way Agency which is CARF accredited.
Individuals are trained in daily living, communication, social, and work adjustment skills. Each individual is guided toward reaching his or her fullest potential.
Happy Hour also employs individuals in various areas: assisting with cooking and preparing lunch; tearing rags; destroying blueprints and recycling computer paper; recycling newspaper and cardboard; assembling and packaging hospital kits; printing and labeling newsletters.
The Specialized Employment program involves our individuals working on the Robins Air Force Base recycling contracts .
The Advanced Employment program employs adults in various businesses throughout Houston County. They hold regular jobs and receive support services from our staff of job coaches.
We operate eight group homes and provide supported living arrangements for our persons served.
